The Tata Nexon EV was launched earlier in the year 2020 and had gained attention from the buyers for the pricing and the features that it offers. Now the Kerala government has ordered 65 Nexon EV for the Motor vechile department and will be used for the enforcement duties. These 65 vehicles will be a part of the “Safe Kerala” initiative which is to ensure traffic rules and road discipline. The complete fleet will be leased for a period of 8 years by the energy efficient services limited (EESL), which comes under the ministry of Power.
How are these Nexon EV different from the Normal Ones?
These 65 Nexon EV’s will later be fitted with the other equipment’s and gadgets required as by the department. For example these vehicles will be fitted with the speed cameras, radars, sirens and maybe some modifications in the paint design also. These vehicles would be used 24*7 as per the department and will have 1 driver in the morning and two drivers in the night .There will be a charging station installed at all the 65 office of the enforcement squads .
Tata Nexon EV Key highlights
The Tata Nexon EV has a starting price of 13.99 Lakh (Ex-Showroom) and goes up to 15.99Lakh (Ex-Showroom) with a specification of 3993 x 1811 x 1606(length*width*height) and a wheel base of 2498mm.
The Tata nexon EV comes with a performance of 30.2kWh li-ion battery, which is tested under vigorous conditions and has a futureproof IP67 certified battery. The tata Nexon EV comes with a 3 phase Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motor with a peak output of 129PS and a torque of 245Nm with a ZIPTRON technology.
The Main highlight of the Tata nexon EV is the ZConnect app that has many features such as remote commands, vehicle health monitoring, safety and security, Driving and tip analytics and location based services.
